Golf Physio Assessment
Keep Playing Golf Without Pain

Back, shoulder, hip or elbow pain doesn’t have to stop you from enjoying the game you love. At Eastside Physio + Co in Surrey Hills, our physiotherapists provide specialised Golf Physio Assessments using the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) system – the world’s leading golf movement screen.

Whether you want to stay pain-free on the course, return after injury, or add more consistency to your swing, our assessments are designed to keep you playing longer and feeling better.
What is a Golf Physio (TPI) Assessment?

A Golf Physio Assessment is a one-on-one session with a physiotherapist trained in the TPI system.

We look at how your body moves in the golf swing and identify the physical restrictions or weaknesses that may be contributing to pain, stiffness, or inconsistency.

Your session includes:
-
Movement & mobility screen – spine, hips, shoulders
-
Strength & stability testing – targeting golf-specific muscles
-
Swing mechanics review – how your body impacts your swing
-
Injury screen – addressing common issues like golfer’s elbow, back pain, shoulder or hip pain
-
Personalised plan – tailored exercises and strategies to reduce pain and improve your golf

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a good golfer to book a Golf Physio Assessment?
No. You don’t need to be a professional or even an experienced golfer to benefit. Our Golf Physio Assessments are designed for golfers of all levels, from beginners to seasoned players. The assessment focuses on how your body moves during the golf swing, not your handicap.
Is the Golf Physio Assessment only for younger, performance-focused golfers?
Not at all. Many of our clients are 50+ golfers who want to play pain-free and prevent injuries. While the TPI system is often used for performance at elite levels, it’s just as powerful for helping everyday golfers reduce pain, improve mobility, and enjoy their game longer.
What injuries or pain can a Golf Physio Assessment help with?
Common golf-related issues include lower back pain, golfer’s elbow, shoulder or rotator cuff pain, hip stiffness, and knee problems. Our assessment identifies the physical causes behind these issues and provides a tailored plan to manage and prevent them.
How is a Golf Physio Assessment different from a normal physio session?
A standard physiotherapy session addresses your current injury or pain. A Golf Physio Assessment goes further by screening your swing mechanics, strength, and mobility using the TPI system. This allows us to connect your body’s movement with your golf performance and create a plan specific to golf.
What should I bring to my assessment?
Please bring a golf club – we recommend a 6-iron if you’re unsure – and wear comfortable clothing you can move easily in.
Is the Golf Physio Assessment covered by private health insurance?
Yes, it may be claimable under physiotherapy extras depending on your policy. Please check with your insurer for confirmation.
