Sports injuries we treat

Our sports physiotherapy team treats injuries caused by basketball, soccer, hockey, footy, cricket, rowing, tennis and athletics, at every level of play. No two athletes are the same, so care is tailored to your injury and what your sport demands of your body. Find your injury below.

How we assess and treat a sporting injury

All treatment plans begin by getting an understanding of your objectives. The first visit is an evaluation, where we determine what is causing your pain and how it occurred, so we know for certain what it will take to get you back to your sport.

We then design a rehabilitation program specifically for your sport by integrating manual therapy with exercise routines to help you regain strength as you heal. You'll complete your rehab in our clinic and your physiotherapist will evaluate your progress regularly. This ensures that the program evolves to match your body's changing needs, providing the right level of challenge at every stage of your recovery.

Return to sport: how we decide when you are ready

Returning to sport isn't about ticking off a certain number of weeks. It's about making sure your injury has recovered enough to cope with the demands of your sport. We'll assess your strength, movement and confidence before gradually building you back into training and competition, so you return when you're ready, not just when the calendar says you should.

Clinical Pilates that supports your rehab

Clinical Pilates that supports your rehab

Clinical Pilates helps you continue your rehabilitation between physiotherapy appointments.  After the initial injury phase calms down, structured clinical exercises help you regain strength and control, which is essential for preventing future injuries and safeguarding you as you gradually increase activity.

Every program is tailored to your stage of recovery and guided by a physiotherapist, so you're working at the right level as you regain strength and control. That means you can keep progressing without doing too much too soon. These sessions are conducted in our Surrey Hills practice, and you can join any class that suits your rehabilitation program by checking our current timetable.

Fees, Medicare and private health for sports physiotherapy

You can book a private sports physio appointment without a referral, and we confirm the fees at the time of your booking. If you have a chronic condition, you might qualify for a Medicare rebate. This requires both a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan and a signed GP referral, and this is not the same as booking privately

Starting July 1, 2026, the rebate is $63.40 (MBS item 10960, schedule fee $74.55) and it applies for up to five sessions each year.

These sessions are shared among all your allied health services, not just physiotherapy.

Previously known as a CDM or EPC plan, a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan remains valid until June 30, 2027. If you qualify, bulk billing is available under this plan. Our team will confirm your eligibility when you schedule your appointment.

For those with private health insurance, you can claim your rebate immediately through HICAPS. We also welcome patients using WorkCover, NDIS, TAC, and Home Care services. Just let our reception team know during booking, and bring the necessary documents with you.

For more details on this, please check our fee schedule and new patient information.
