Clinical Pilates
Surrey Hills
Clinical Pilates has revolutionised the world of health by offering a unique, low-impact way to achieve your strength, fitness and flexibility goals. You can expect guidance by a physiotherapist who will help identify the specific areas that are contributing to injury or pain.
Many of our clients have tried exercising at home, but have struggled with consistency or persistent injuries. Others just don’t like the idea of joining a gym. If this sounds like you, then our Clinical Pilates might be for you.

Clinical Pilates combines the feel good & get stronger principles of Pilates with the clinical understanding of Physiotherapy. We can use Clinical Pilates to prepare you for surgery, recover from surgery and manage musculoskeletal pain and injury. It can be an effective way to treat neck and back pain, chronic pain and may also reduce the risk of re-injury.
At Eastside, our Clinical Pilates classes are made specific to you and your body. Following an initial assessment with our skilled team we create a personalised program for you, your goals, and your condition.

-
Rebuild strength safely
Our physio-led classes help you recover from injury, manage pain, or build strength through low impact exercise without fear of overdoing it.
-
Tailored to your body and your goals
No cookie-cutter classes — we customise each session to suit your injury history, lifestyle, and progress.
-
Boost confidence in movement
Perfect if you feel unsure in the gym or worried about re-injury. We provide a calm, supportive environment where you can build trust in your body again.
-
Improve posture and core strength
We focus on postural control and deep core activation to build functional strength that supports your whole body.
-
Enhance balance and coordination
Pilates helps reduce your balance by improving how your body moves and reacts. This is especially important for hip and knee arthritis, or for falls prevention as we age.
-
Safe and welcoming for Beginners
You don’t need to be flexible, fit, or pain-free to start. Our Physios are experienced in finding the right starting point for you, so you can improve without risk of injury.

HOW TO GET STARTED WITH
CLINICAL PILATES AT EASTSIDE
1
BOOK AN ASSESSMENT
Tell us your story, set goals and take the first step on your Pilates journey. In your 40 minute initial assessment, we will discuss your medical history and conduct a thorough examination. If you have any scans or medical documents that you believe may be relevant, feel free to bring them in. Wear easy-to-move-in comfortable clothing for this session.

2
GUIDED LEARNING
For beginners we recommend at least 1-3 sessions with an experienced physio to help develop and practice your tailored program with close guidance. In your 1:1 sessions we’ll guide your form and make sure your program is perfect for you with the right level of challenge.

3
BEGIN YOUR CLASSES
Once your personalised program is created you will be ready to start in a group setting. We keep our class numbers small (maximum of 5 people to 1 instructor). You will have guidance for your individualised program that is completed in the session. Your instructor will assist you in the class to make sure you are comfortable and progressing at your own safe and comfortable pace.
