Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy aims to relieve pain and restore normal movement patterns. A typical physiotherapy session will include a thorough history, physical examination, diagnosis and explanation of the condition. During your treatment you will have time to ask questions and involve yourself in the treatment process. At Eastside we work with our patients to plan the route to recovery and build strategies to keep you in good health.
Physiotherapy treatments include;
- Soft and deep tissue release techniques.
- Joint mobilisation and manipulation to reduce joint stiffness.
- Specialised muscle activation exercises to recruit and isolate areas of weakness.
- Specific stretching programs.
- Muscle Energy Techniques (MET’s) – combining mobilisations with stretching to restore joint movement.
- Exercise Rehabilitation (including pre and post operative).
- Dry Needling to restore movement and decrease pain.
- Tendon loading programs – specific exercise programs aimed at restoring tendon function.
- Taping/bracing for sport and postural support.

Strength and Endurance: to build tolerance and resilience to the strains that go through the body during movement
Sport or Task Specific: training that is specific to your activity eg. Repetitive lifting, agility, kicking or throwing.
