Jason Clarke
Co-founder and PhysiotherapistA graduate of The University of Sydney in 2010 with a Masters in Physiotherapy, Jason is a long-standing member of the Australian Physiotherapy Association.
Co-founding Eastside Physiotherapy + Sports Injury Clinic in 2017, he has worked with many athletes from both professional and recreational levels. His experience includes Rugby Union and League (NSW Country 2013-15), Golf (Australasian PGA 2014-15), Basketball (NBL and Big V 2016) and Soccer (East Kew United 2018).
Heading industrial and workplace injury programs with BHP, Woolworths and The Epworth Hospital, Jason has worked to devise preventative strategies to minimize the risk of occupational injuries and is a highly experienced in return to work rehabilitation programs..
Having completed advanced training in Sports Physiotherapy, Dry Needling and the assessment and treatment of spinal pain, he has a particular interest in treating shoulder injuries and back pain.
Outside of physiotherapy, Jason enjoys swimming, running, golf and snowboarding. He completed his first marathon on the Gold Coast in 2015 and he has absolutely no intention of completing another one anytime soon.
Luke Peterson
Co-founder and PhysiotherapistLuke graduated a Bachelor of Exercise Sports Science at the University of Wollongong before completing the Masters of Physiotherapy at Sydney University. Having worked locally for the past 5 years since moving to Victoria, he has recently co-founded Eastside Physiotherapy + Sports Injury Clinic in 2017.
Luke started his Physiotherapy career as a graduate at The Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick, NSW which he credits for his thorough understanding and treatment of postoperative rehabilitation. During his time in the public health system, he was involved in research studies including chronic rotator cuff rehabilitation as well as working in clinical research for spinal injury rehabilitation. Luke is currently heading the injury management and prevention program for Ashburton United Soccer Club.
Luke’s time in the clinic is spent between hands-on manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and instructing strength and Pilates classes.
Entertaining a sporting background in Rugby League and Cricket, he has more recently enjoyed spending time in the gym.
Helen Boursinos
PhysiotherapistHelen Boursinos completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy from Latrobe University and has over 20 years’ experience in Private Practice, providing her with a solid foundation for treating a variety of conditions.
With over 13 years of experience in Clinical Pilates, Helen has completed both Dance Medicine Australia (DMA) and Polestar qualifications. Her extensive experience working with patients rehabilitating from surgery or injury has enabled her to hone her holistic approach to treatment. A methodology that goes beyond simply treating pain, it ensures your overall health and well-being improves after every session.
Helen’s areas of expertise are women’s health conditions including pre and post-natal care with a strong focus in improving core strength, flexibility and posture.
Helen is a certified Lymphodema practitioner with an interest in oncology and cancer rehabilitation. She is currently studying the ‘Pinc’ cancer rehabilitation course which is to be completed in December 2018.
Helen enjoys winding down with her own Pilates training and is always finding new and exciting ways Pilates can improve your outcomes.
Helen is also fluent in Greek.
Lily Liu
PhysiotherapistLily graduated from La Trobe University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. She has more than 8 years of clinical experience in treating musculoskeletal and spinal conditions, as well as sporting injuries.
Lily utilises manual therapy, dry needling and exercise prescription to manage her patients’ rehabilitation. She is also highly trained in both Clinical Pilates and Mat Pilates
Lily enjoys keeping up with professional education and has recently completed a BikeFit course to enhance her knowledge of cycling related injuries, especially issues related to bike setups. As well as her interest in cycling, Lily enjoys treating injuries resulting from running, tennis, netball and basketball.
In her spare time, Lily enjoys running, cycling, going to the gym and eating her way around Melbourne.
Lily speaks fluent Mandarin (Chinese).
Tim Gibbons
PhysiotherapistTim is a graduate from the University of Melbourne, completing his Doctor of Physiotherapy. Hailing from Hobart, Tim undertook his undergraduate studies in Exercise Science at the University of Tasmania. Tim utilises a wide range of evidence-based manual techniques and exercise modalities to assist clients in achieving their goals.
Tim holds a DMA Clinical Pilates certification, and combines these principles of motor control with a strong background in strength and conditioning to help build healthy, active and injury-resilient individuals. Tim is also a Level 1 Sports Trainer and has a wealth of experience providing pitch-side management and injury-prevention programs to both local Australian rules football (University Blues Football Club) and soccer clubs (Fitzroy City SC).
Having previously played Australian rules football for many years, Tim is now a keen distance runner and has recently completed his first marathon. Tim is an avid sports fan and loves to travel. He combines his two loves by attending AFL, EPL, NBA and NFL matches around Australia and the globe. On weekends he likes to eat his way around Melbourne’s array of local markets and craft breweries.
Joel Cheston
Massage TherapistJoel graduated with an Advanced Diploma of Sports Therapy in 2015 after studying for 3 years at the Australian College of Sports Therapy in Melbourne. Joel specialises in treating soft tissue problems with the use of both manual and non-manual therapy.
Joel has experience working with both professional athletes and non-athelitic populations. Joel has spent a season with AFL club North Melbourne in 2015 and is currently working with Rugby Union club Melbourne Rebels, on top of this Joel also has over 2 years of clinical experience in private practice.
Joel’s treatments vary from client to client as he treats everyone as an individual. Joel uses a range of techniques including; Myofascial Release, Cupping, Trigger Point Therapy, Dry Needling, Positional release therapy and MET’s among others. He also has a strong understanding of Functional movement and anatomy that he uses when prescribing corrective exercises if needed.
Outside of helping people move better Joel has a strong interest in both AFL and the NBA, maintaining an active lifestyle, and enjoying time with his friends and family.
